Motally extends mobile analytics capabilities to include iPad
After the influx of news yesterday around Apple’s newly launched iPad, its not surprising that companies are beginning to announce their own iPad related news. Mobile analytics firm, Motally today announced that it will be expanding its current tracking services for mobile web and apps to include those running on Apple’s iPad.
Motally’s platform leverages a patent-pending technology that allows publishers to collect data and create analytic reports based on the usage of their mobile websites or applications. The extension to Apple’s iPad will allow users to continue to gain user data, including engagement times, display content and search results. Currently, Motally’s analytics will work automatically for iPhone apps accessed on the iPad with additional plans to support the iPad SDK (software development kit) once it’s available.
Developers looking to begin building iPad apps can use the iPhone SDK 3.2 beta, which contains tools to begin building. The new release of iPad SDK will open a new good rush for app developers, according to Scott Forstall, SVP of iPhone Software for Apple in a recent marketing video.
It will be interesting to see how mobile users interact with apps on the new iPad. With enhanced features and more touch points, publishers will want to capture and analyze the unique data and improve their products based on those actions, according to a company press release.
Motally is based in San Francisco, California and handles mobile sites for customers like Yelp and Fandango.
